Octopath Traveler 2 (PC) - Part 56: Wellgrove Economics 101 (Partitio Chapter 3)

After making a deal with Roque Brilliante to acquire the rights to the steam engine for 80 billion leaves at the end of the previous chapter, Partitio heads off to the town of Wellgrove to find Alrond, the richest man on the western continent, and seek out a loan. Alrond is willing to fork over the 80 billion if Partitio can pass his test and revitalize Wellgrove's economy. As part of his plan, Partitio gathers all of the town's street merchants into one central building and gathers goods from all over the world for merchandise. However, the grand opening of Alrond's Department Store is visited by a mysterious figure hiding himself in a cloud of steam. When the steamy figure goes to assassinate Alrond, Partitio confronts him and unmasks him as Roque's recently-fired tax collector Thurston seeking revenge on Partitio for ruining his life.

After the boss battle with Thurston, Partitio decides to hire him and help him get back on his feet once he makes the exchange with Roque. Meanwhile, Alrond witnesses the booming business at his new department store and hands Partitio a check for $80,000,000,000, figuring it would be hard to carry around that much in coin. Now it's time to meet Roque on his own island to make the exchange!
