I Peter Lesson-02: Living as God’s Elect - Part II

Today we are in Lesson-02 in the series “Living Hope” from the book of I Peter.

This study is part I of our series: “Strangers and Pilgrims” covering both I and II Peter.
 
The lesson is titled “Living as God’s Elect – Part II” and our focus passage is I Peter 1:13-25.
 
Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.
 
In our previous episode, we began our study of I Peter 1.
 
Last time we focused on v1-12, “Our Great Redemption”. We spent quite time looking at the covenant language present in both I and II Peter.
 
Because as believers, we are now in a new covenant with God through Jesus Christ (cf. Jer. 31:31-34; Luke 22:19-20). Jews and Gentiles, one people of God in Christ.

In today’s lesson we will conclude our study of chapter 1 of I Peter.

Last time we looked at everything we possess in Christ through our great redemption.
 
We have a living hope, a secure inheritance in heaven, and the assurance that we can face trials here on earth with joy because of God’s election of us.
 
In today’s study we will focus on the great responsibility we have as believers as we live as God’s elect.
