Random Rants: Why Rey Will Never Be As Beloved A Character As Luke Skywalker

Now that Lucasfilm is returning the highly divisive character of Rey to the big screen, there's been a lot of discussions and comparisons on social media between her character and the original hero of Star Wars, Luke Skywalker. There's always those who will argue that Rey is not a Mary-Sue character type; as a matter of fact, these folks will say she lines up perfectly in line with Luke's character. But does she?

Let's examine this question and see if the character as portrayed on film measures up to the original and why she will never measure up and be as beloved as Luke.
