In The Wake Of Cyclone Gabrielle

The people of Hawkes Bay still need our help.

Tim Baker visited the areas hit hard by Cyclone Gabrielle - Puketapu and Rissington in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand to document the real impacts of the extreme weather which hit there in February of 2023.

With reports out as of May 1st 2023 that the Hawke's Bay Civil Defence cyclone response ended after just 77 days, the sheer gravity of the clean-up situation has been totally ignored by the government and the New Zealand Civil Defence- https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/488893/hawke-s-bay-civil-defence-cyclone-response-ends-after-77-days

Since filming, the Puketapu Wellness Hub is not currently active, however, the PHA is actively assisting in the area, and with recent wellness hubs in Napier, they will certainly look to activate one in Puketapu again should the need be there.
