Octopath Traveler 2 (PC) - Part 59: Devourer of Dreams Boss Fight & Cursed Shield

As long as we're in Montwise after Osvald's 4th chapter, there is still an optional bonus dungeon we haven't explored yet. But first, we can give Al the information we got from the student at the Nameless Isle on how to decipher unknown languages to help him translate "From The Far Reaches of Hell" and unlock the ultimate Superboss! I am nowhere near ready to fight him just yet, though, but there is another optional boss in the Forsaken Graveyard just south of Montwise that I am ready to fight.

The Devourer of Dreams has a unique gimmick with his boss fight that makes it so you can't see which of your characters will act when. Other than that, Armsmaster Throne and Arcanist Partitio with their latent powers took him out with great ease. Apparently this boss can become a regular enemy in this dungeon after the boss fight, and can be captured by Ochette in subsequent encounters, so it may be worth it to come back for that.

To round out this episode, I also sail back to the Shipwreck of the Empress where I got the Rusty Dagger to not only continue grinding up some of my lower-level party members, but also to grab a treasure chest I missed in my first trip containing the Cursed Shield, which would normally come with an Evasion penalty, but can be turned into an Evasion boost with a Blessing In Disguise accessory.
