Defeating a False Anointing!

In today’s broadcast, Joseph Z teaches about false anointing; how to identify and overcome it. He teaches that anointing means marking or smearing; it also means that one is marked by God, and when we’re marked by God, we can do the impossible. He proceeds further by clarifying that, if there’s a false anointing, there must be a real one. Also, he explains that our God is a consuming fire as can be seen in the book of Hebrews 12:28-29, and also in Leviticus 6:12-13 where we see a confirmation of how God operates with fire. He then elaborates that any fire that is of God is God’s fire, and as such is holy, but there’s also a strange fire that we must be able to identify; just as can be seen in the book of Leviticus 9:23-24.

Moving on, Joseph went forward to enlighten us about profane fire, which is a man-made fire labelled to be God’s fire. He discloses that many a time institutions pretend to have something fresh that is not of God when they have a decline in their ministries. He further explains that when an institution wants to show its relevance or value, it can get into a place of desperation, and this is where the dangerous strange fire rears its head. He further emphasizes that whatever the institution can not control, it must kill and if it can't kill it, it must persecute it.

More importantly, Joseph clarifies this teaching by looking into offerings that were accepted in the scripture and the ones that were rejected. He made reference to when Solomon dedicated the Temple and fire came from heaven to sanctify his offering, same could be seen also with Elijah praying to God and fire came down to consume the offering he offered. We can also see this act of God answering by fire in the Cain and Abel scenario, where Abel's offering was accepted but Cain’s wasn’t. He further enlightens us that true anointing is effortless while false anointing has labour involved, it is characterized by toiling, and this can be more clarified in the scripture Acts 7: 18-19; where Peter encountered a false teacher named Simon the sorcerer.

Furthermore, Joseph clarifies that motive is also a determining factor in deciphering whether an anointing is legitimate or false; it may have power, signs and wonders but that does not make it legitimate. False anointing can also be easily dictated when we see that the mission is monetarily or Mamon driven.
Joseph then encourages us to read the word of God and get in tune with the spirit of God to be able to decipher a false anointing.
