Why are VPNs being blocked? + Q&A

Why are VPNs being blocked by some websites and platforms? And how should we react to that. In general, this is unacceptable behavior. There can be good business reasons they want to block VPNs but some have extremely bad reasoning here.

Let's also talk about HOW they can block VPNs.
