Enemy Shelling, Military Humor and a Mine with a Motor - In Positions with Fighters of the 3rd OShBr

This is a new episode of our “How are we doing?” frontline blog. This time, Vitya Rozovy visited the positions of the fighters of the 2nd Assault Battalion near Bakhmut. In forest plantations, where dugouts and trenches are located between the ramparts, dense shelling takes place day and night. The closest enemy fortifications to our military is where the russian paratroopers are. The sides are separated by a distance of approximately 400 meters.
To the sounds of volleys, the fighters show off the Western weaponry they have in their arsenal. Those are American grenades, a Belgian machine gun and the well-known Browning M2. Fire from the latter is a reliable means of countering Russian attacks.

“A “bird” with a thermal camera came in, hovered over our positions, and the assault began. There was an front group, maybe seven people. We lined them up with Browning. Once Browning started to work, there was a lull, straight away,” – a fighter of the 2nd AB tells about repelling one of the recent attacks.

The conversation is interrupted by explosions. With every minute, they are getting louder, and therefore closer. As we proceed to cover, we find out that there is already a WIA in a nearby position.
