Brazilian Spring: protesters prevent cargo flow at the entrance of second
A new protest against the election results began on BR-277, preventing cargo flow from the Port of Paranaguá on Tuesday (Nov. 22).
Demonstrators protest for a full, independent audit of election results, for freedom and freedom of expression, and against censorship and tyranny.
The blockade, in Paraná, happens at kilometer 6, towards the coast, since dawn.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), all lanes leading to Paranaguá are blocked.
The Port of Paranaguá is one of the main ports of Brazil and Latin America. It’s located in the city of Paranaguá, in the Brazilian state of Paraná.
It’s the second-largest port in Brazil in tonnage and the third in container shipping.
It’s a main exporting port of agricultural products in Brazil, especially soybeans and soybean meal.
Trucks form lines, and passenger vehicles are the only ones passing through the region, using the shoulder. The congestion reaches 8 kilometers. According to the PRF, agents are working to free the area.
