Recently the PS3 had firmware update 4.85 released for it, which surprisingly did not patch any of the existing PS3Xploit tools. We saw the same thing with the PS Vita with h-encore² being released for firmware 3.71, which remained unpatched for firmware updates 3.72 and 3.73! At this point official game releases are barely coming out for these consoles, the PS4 selling well, and the PS5 has been officially announced. It seems as though priority for patching existing PS3 & Vita vulnerabilities has fallen to the wayside. In this video I look back at previous trends and ask the question: Could this be End of Life for the PS3 & PS Vita?
