Sun Tzu was a Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher who lived in the Eastern Zhou period. He is best known for his book, The Art of War, which is considered one of the most influential works on military strategy and tactics ever written. The book emphasizes the importance of planning and preparation, and the use of intelligence and deception to gain advantage over an enemy. While it does discuss the use of force, much of the text is focused on how to achieve victory without engaging in battle. Sun Tzu's ideas have been studied and applied not only in military contexts but also in business, politics, and other fields where strategy and competition play a role
