The fact that a surefire billion dollar hit in Guardians Of the Galaxy is looking like a surefire flop, it's clear that the MCU has lost a significant chunk of its core audience that drove it to success during the Infinity Saga. The question now becomes: which set of fans abandoned the MCU? The casuals or the hardcore comic fans? Or Both?
