This is a so called 3D printed compliant mechanism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compliant_mechanism.
A compliant mechanism is a flexible mechanism that achieves force and motion transmission through elastic body deformation. In this case it's the ring that creates a clamping force. It's print-in-place and 3D printed without supports. That means it's an assembled object without putting it together.
