Did the ET's REALLY almost take over Earth? Wait....they are still trying?

The Little Greys and the Reptilians had some big plans for Earth that did not involve the evolution of humans. How close did we come to being controlled by ET's? and are the still trying today? Sorry for the editing, I blame Mercury Retrograde for the technology issues.
