Backpacking the Foothills Trail in NC and SC | Waterfalls and Rivers Galore!

The Foothills Trail is a 76-mile National Recreation Trail in South and North Carolina, for hiking and backpacking. It extends from Table Rock State Park to Oconee State Park.

I hiked this trail in late December in 3 nights and 4 days. A very difficult trail but absolutely beautiful! Full of amazing views, rivers, waterfalls and campsites.....one of my all time favorites!

Not only does the Foothills Trail offer a superior hiking experience, Backpacker magazine rated it as “one of the best long trails [fifty plus miles] in the country" ...
