Kremlin drone strike: 'A national humiliation for Putin, true or not'

Russia has threatened to retaliate for what it said was a Ukrainian “assassination attempt” on Vladimir Putin, the Russian President.

The incident, in which two drones exploded near Vladimir Putin’s residence in the Kremlin late on Tuesday night, was described by Moscow as “a planned terrorist attack”.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian President, has denied his country was behind Tuesday night’s apparent drone attack on the Kremlin.

“We didn’t attack Putin,” he said in Helsinki, where he met the leaders of Nordic countries on Wednesday.
