Ranking The BEST Power Up Suits In Super Mario Bros Games
One of the most amazing things about the Super Mario Bros franchise is the number of different power-ups and suits the characters get to wear in different games. First appearing in Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario and his pals have definitely had the ability to add abilities through different suits. Let's take a look at my three favorite suits and ranking them according to what I think are the best from the Super Mario Brothers franchise.
Number 3:
Hammer Brothers Suit
Hammer Suit is a powerup in the Mario Series. It was first introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES. While Mario or Luigi has this ability, they can throw hammers. Their appearance while they have this ability is similar to that of a Hammer Bros.
Number 2:
Cat Suit.
In Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, all three forms of the Cat Suit appear. The normal Super Bell version gives characters the ability to climb up walls, sneak, do a scratch attack and a pounce, and run up the end-of-level Flag Pole to reach the top. The Lucky Bell version lets them do all this, along with letting them turn into a statue when she ground pounds, giving them Coins. The Invincibility Bell version lets them do everything the Super Bell can, but gives characters invincibility at the same time. However, running out of time, touching lava or poison, or falling out of the level still make you lose a life. The Invincibility Bell can only be used once per course and can only be used by scanning the Cat Mario Amiibo. It is exclusive to Bowser's Fury.
Number one:
Tanooki suit
Tanooki Mario is a form of Mario or Luigi that first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. In its debut, it was attained by donning a Tanooki Suit and gave the abilities of Raccoon Mario (which it is often confused with) with an added statue transformation.
This form's name comes from the tanuki, an animal found in Japan and often depicted in folklore. As of Super Mario 3D Land, Luigi's version of the form is mostly called Kitsune Luigi, referring to the kitsune. Additionally, in Super Mario Bros. 3, Statue Mario resembles Kshitigarbha, the protector of travelers and the guardian of souls, who is known as Daigan Jizō Bosatsu in Japan.
There are much more than three different suits out there for the Super Mario Brothers characters to utilize throughout different games, what are your favorite suits that Mario and his pals have used over the years? Comment below.
