Tulsi Gabbard quits Democratic Party: 'Elitist cabal' run by 'warmongers and anti-white racists'

Former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announced Tuesday she is leaving the Democratic Party, calling the organization an "elitist cabal" run by "warmongers," "cowards" and "anti-white racists."

Gabbard, who was running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, attacked the Democratic Party in a video she posted on her YouTube account. However, she did not announce any plans to join the Republican Party or take on any other political affiliation.

"I can no longer remain in today's Democratic Party, which is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wisdom who divide us by racializing every issue and fomenting anti-white racism," Gabbard said in an excerpt posted on Twitter.

"I believe in a government that is of the people, by the people and for the people. Unfortunately, that is not the case with today's Democratic Party. Instead, it stands for a government that is of, by, and for the powerful elites," she continued. "I am calling on my fellow members with common sense and independent spirit to join me and leave the Democratic Party."
