US to provide Ukraine $1.2 billion in long-term security aid

In a move to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses amidst ongoing attacks from Russia, the United States has announced an additional $1.2 billion in long-term military aid.

The Pentagon confirmed the aid package on Tuesday under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, the Associated Press reported.

Unlike the swift delivery of equipment, weapons, and ammunition from Pentagon stocks, this financial assistance will be allocated over the coming months or even years, addressing Ukraine’s future security requirements.
