Turkey Hunt 2023

For any of you out there who are thinking about recording your hunts this is a video for you, I have three cameras set up you are watching the Akaso camera footage, I have a Tactacam 4.0, and a Canon on the tripod, one view just doesn’t do a video justice.
Well when you have all these cameras to set up and deal with by yourself, and you have no control of the game you’re hunting whether it is deer or turkey, etc. they travel at whatever speed their heart desires at that moment, so many times as in this video it all comes together faster than expected.
I prepare as the turkey is coming in on my right heading into the woods following two hens, by the time I get everything set up the tom is into an area with a few cedar branches between him and me.
I aim my Winchester model 1300 youth/turkey shotgun out of the tent, I’m on my knees and there is a 1-1/4” branch running horizontally right in the center of my shot, I pull the shotgun back in and reset to a standing position but just above kneeling so it’s pretty hard for me at 62 to hold that position very long.
I take aim and squeeze the trigger, and with the odd position I was in there was no keeping my balance.
To top it off I missed, (sure I shot high with falling down), and I couldn’t even check my video footage to verify my shot because the percussion from the 3” turkey load seemed to shut off my Tactacam which seemed to make the video unreadable.
Then when I fell down the shotgun hit the tent which closed the display door on my Canon and I ended up with the same scenario of no video there.
Bottom line is recording is not for the faint of heart, many times you either miss the animal or don’t even get a shot because of messing with the cameras, so you say why do it? Because I really do enjoy it and the funniest things in life are the goofy things and situations we end up in!
