Did The Dog Catch The Ball?

The big question, is it a catch? Does it count? The ruling on the field has been controversial.

Bluto jumped in the air with excitement as the ball was thrown to him. The slow-motion effect captures his attempt to catch, as he leaps into the air with his mouth open and arms wide. As the ball sails past his mouth, for a moment it seems like he might have missed his chance. Bluto quickly adjusts his position, and with lightning-fast reflexes, he manages to grab the ball with his arms just like they were chopsticks he's able grab the ball with his arms so well the ball stops moving as he comes down from his jump.
