Top 3 Best Nintendo Home Console Launch Titles

Nintendo generally has amazing games that come at the same time as a new console, so I thought that I needed to take a look back at previous launches of systems and check out their launch titles. What are my 3 favorite Nintendo home console games? Let's take a look at what Top 3 Best Nintendo Home Console Launch Titles are and why I love them.

Number 3
Wii Sports
Few games were such system sellers as Wii sports was and for good reason. It was a glorified tech demo, but it was a really well-done tech demo. It showed you what the motion controls could do, allowed you to play single-player or multiplayer, used just the Wiimote or the Nunchuck and Wii Remote, and it was just fun. It also got people into the idea of creating their Mii characters to really personalize what was going on.

Number 2
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2
Coming off the N64 with all its jagged polygons, getting into the world of the GameCube was definitely a different sort of beast. The launch titles were also different as we did not have a Super Mario game at launch. We did not have a Zelda game at launch. But what we did get is perhaps the finest Star Wars game we've ever gotten, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2. It looked, played, and sounded like you were in one of the movies. You got to fly the trench run on the Death Star, along with a number of other missions. This is a truly beautiful game that still holds up today.

Number 1
Super Mario World
It should be no surprise that my favorite system of all time also has my favorite launch title of all time. Super Mario World is such a masterpiece and a fitting follow-up to Super Mario Bros 3. It had amazing music, beautiful graphics, Yoshi was introduced, and much, much more. The playthrough value of Super Mario World is also incredibly high, perhaps the highest of any of the series. This is an easy game to fall in love with, and without a doubt my favorite launch title of all time for any Nintendo home console.
