Chico, California: At least 1 killed, 5 injured in a shooting at house party in Chico, California.

The Chico Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday morning in the 1000 block of Columbus Ave.

According to the Chico Police Department, the shooting incident started as an altercation at a house party at 12:27 a.m. Saturday morning, on the 700 block of West 7th Street, Chico.

Upon arrival of the incident CPD says a fight broke out when the unknown suspect was asked to leave the party, CPD received reports of shots fired and arrived at the scene. Two victims were assaulted during the fight according to CPD, one was allegedly struck on the head with a firearm, and the other was allegedly hit on the head with a glass bottle. Both victims were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition.
