Oh No! Is NewsMax Turning Rhino?, 4097

Last week, Newsmax introduced a new format at the 9pm hour, a 5-person panel. I won’t go into it, but overall, this 5 person panel just doesn’t work, but especially led by former 17-year CNN veteran newscaster, Chris Plante.

This particular segment was so shockingly Rhino. It starts out with an ABC report on Trump still leading Biden by a 49 to 42 margin.

First of all, who believes that Biden could possibly get that large a percentage of the American vote in 2024? What demographic group will come out in force to come that close to Trump’s core supporters, plus record support from Blacks and Latinos? So the pollsters can skew their numbers anyway they want to try to convince themselves that they aren’t totally lying, but I don’t believe it, and you don’t really believe this as well.

So the first one on this NewsMax panel to comment on these numbers is a former Mike-the-traitor Pence staffer. Listen to his brilliant analysis.

And everyone on this panel laughs like that’s the most foolish of assumptions. There are no real reporters in this group. But it gets worse. Mercedes Schlapp, perhaps because she’s the most well-known face in this august ensemble, gets the task of a glowing introduction for their new host.

Come on, Newsmax, the rest of your prime time lineup is excellent. Shooting yourselves in the foot at the very moment you are perched on the ladder of success, is classic overthinking. You’ve been doing it right to get to this point, why change it? Beware of team Rhino.
