Rick Simpson of Nova Scotia discovered that hemp oil (oil from Marijuana plants) cured his cancer and also that it could cure many other diseases. He began producing and distributing this medicine for free, resulting in many people getting cured of their diseases. He was also trying to get the word out about this extraordinary medicine. The Canadian government then came in and shut down his operation and prosecuted and convicted him.
