Why was it necessary to make 4% of the Bible differently, and then deem that version alone was "Authorized" to be read in the churches of England?

Was the KJV in other words to 'fix' the Tyndale translations that ran against Calvin's doctrine, and then force these new errant pro-Calvin readings to become the orthodox reading, by suppressing all other versions, including Tyndale's Bible.
