Watch: Lavender Hill has been declared a "red zone"

South Africa - Cape Town - 17 May 2023 - Lavender Hill has been declared a red zone in the previous days due to a number of gang shootings in the area. Boys as young as 15 were seen by witnesses carrying guns and using Levana Primary School yard to hide. Some were seen standing on the corners while shooting. Law enforcement and Metro Police had to patrol the area this morning and park on different corners as some of the shootings occurred while school children were playing outside classes.
