Americans are more confused than ever about investing. Every year, Gallup conducts a survey asking Americans what the best investment is. This is a multiple-choice poll, so respondents must select from a premade list of investments Gallup provides.

The standard choices are real estate stocks, bonds, gold, and savings accounts. Now, if you have any knowledge whatsoever about investing, two of those options belong at or near the top of the list.
And some of those options do not belong on the list at all. But let us look at what Americans think about this.
