Israel's Prime Minister Golda Meir reception for African Leaders on Middle East Peace Mission - 1971
Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel's Prime Minister, held a reception at the Knesset Building ... in honour of the four African Presidents attending an investigation of the Middle East conflict for the Organization of African Unity. They are President Senghor of Senegal, President Mobutu of Zaire (formerly Congo Democratic Republic) President Ahidjo of Cameroun, and President Gowon of Nigeria. The reception was held after the first two working sessions, and after talks with Mrs. Meir and other Israeli officials. The African leaders will continue this new peace initiative with a visit to Cairo to hear Egypt's views, before presenting a preliminary report to the Heads of State of ten African countries on November 10, and returning or further talks in Israel.
