Thanks for checking out our How Could You Leave Us reaction. This (the song) was a really beautiful piece of art. Y'all got to see a different side of me (Lex), but I feel like we're all doing this journey called life together and this was my real reaction to the song, first-listen. I did know it was going to be about NF losing his mom, but didn't know it was about the experience of losing an addict to the addiction. I can relate so much, but cannot imagine that happening as a child.

I remember those nights when I was 7 or 8 so vividly, and wouldn't wish that on anyone. Addiction affects everyone, but especially the addict and their children. Interestingly, he also depicted his mom's struggle and I was able to see from the "addict's perspective" which was so beautiful & something we never really talk about. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the song/video, and also your story (whether you lost a parent, or loved one to addiction - or even if you were the addict).

Please be kind in the comments, this is a sensitive subject from all angles and I want to keep the focus on NF's intentions of being able to share your experience without judgment. It feels so good to finally have a digital family that's been through similar things and a place where we can talk about it... *hugs*
