When you have had a childhood that where you didn't feel safe in the home where you were raised, the effect can be devastating on your levels of trust. We can cling to that which brings safety, sometimes to the detriment of our mental and physical health.

If we grow up knowing suffering and pain and feeling most comfortable in that experience, then we will resonate through belief from the subconscious, or the conscious mind in thought or action, that conflict and drama are our anchors into feeling most comfortable. It is all we have known.

I've developed a sense of peace in presence. Planning ahead is merely another fantasy for me, and unlike most people, I don't adhere to the projecting myself out into the world months or years ahead with '5 year plans' or 'in six months I'll be in Bali', for me, I feel deeply into the moment and into my body in order to feel SAFE.

It's a trait that has brought me to understand that my inner journey is the most important journey for me, not where I am taking my body to geographically. The guidance I receive comes from the feeling of being held by a force that is not somewhere off in fantasy, but grounded in my body.
