'This is NOT WAR! This is a SPORT!' | Carlo Ancelotti says Spain should follow England’s approach

'This is not war, this is a sport' said Real Madrid head coach, Carlo Ancelotti on Tuesday, as he spoke about the changes that need to be made in football.

Real Madrid's 1-0 loss to Valencia on Sunday was overshadowed by racism aimed at Vinicius Junior.

Valencia fans appeared to chant “monkey” at the star after Madrid's game at Mestalla Stadium had been temporarily stopped. Vinicius had said a fan insulted him from the stands, and Ancelotti said Vinicius initially didn't want to continue playing.

The Brazilian was later sent off after an altercation with Valencia players, and gestured to home fans about their team’s fight against relegation as he left the field.

On Tuesday, Spanish police also arrested four men accused of hanging a doll by a bit of rope around it's neck from a bridge wearing Vinicius's shirt.

The defeat against Valencia means they trail city rivals Atletico by a point in the battle to finish second in La Liga - 'Los Blancos' missed out on the league title to Barcelona but have secured Champions League football for next season.
