Love the sound it creates strong and powerful.!! 🤛 Since I’m a music lover this really hit a home run for me. It sound even louder while it’s plug in to an outlet.
I Enjoy it while showering it pumps me up and I get the sense of being in a karaoke bar.. lol! !
This thing is amazing! The sound quality is the best Ive heard from any portable speaker. It even sounds bigger than its size. Its not very heavy and even comes with a convenient carrying strap.
We have used it 3 times for 4 hours plus at the pool and its still going. Needless to say the battery life is great. To top it all off it looks better than other portable speakers.
Also it was a snap to connect via Bluetooth. Well worth the money.
For comparison, I also own the UE Megaboom and JBL Flip 3. This is the first portable speaker that has satisfying bass. The frequency response is 55 - 20k hertz, compared to the megaboom response of 65 - 20k hert.
You can definitely hear the increased sound quality and clarity. While the battery is only rated for 15 hours Vs 20 in the megaboom, you can still charge it fully within 3.5 hours or less so not a big issue.
You can also charge your phone with the xtreme 2 so that is cool and handy too. Volume is great and fills my backyard nicely. If you leave the charger plugged in, you get a boost in power/volume when extra sound is needed.
Size wise it is nearly double the diameter of the megaboom and a couple inches longer, but still manageable and the sound quality is worth the added heft.
You wont be disappointed in this speaker.
The JBL Xtreme 2 has come in very useful over the month I’ve now had it for. I have noticed it is a little quieter than the original JBL Xtreme at max volume.
I’ve watched some YouTube videos about it and they explain how because the drivers are bigger, the speaker uses more energy.
But JBL didn’t want to make a new (larger) battery for the speaker, and they didn’t want the new speaker to have a worse battery life than the old one (15 hours) so they just reduced its peak performance.
They have already done one update to the speaker however that made it louder at max volume, and I expect more to follow as more people buy the speaker and complaine about the same issue.
Ignoring that though, the speaker is (e)xtreme(ly) clear and has amazing sounding base. It does not get any less clear the louder it gets. If it wasn’t for the max volume issue, I would give this speaker a 5/5, but because of it I gave it a 4/5.
Like everyone else said the extreme two sounds great.
However since I purchased it online I was unaware of the exact dimensions I went to the Amazon website to take a look at the dimensions and thought as pictured that the extreme two was actually 18 inches long.
