Witness My First Time Reacting to a Powerful Irish Catholic Drama - Calvary Movie

Hi all and welcome to Thea and The Movies where I react to the best of Film and TV.

In this video, I react to the Movie Calvary (2014) which was written and directed by John Michael McDonagh of ‘The Guard’ fame.

The movies stars, Brendan Gleeson, Chris O’Dowd, Kerry Reilly, Aidan Gillen and Pat Short amongst others.

Calvary has a score of 7.4/10 on IMDB. I personally would rate it 8.5/10.

Calvary is about a Catholic Priest named Father James is a small-town parish priest in Ireland and whose Sunday confessionals suddenly include a threat to kill him in a week's time as a matter of principle.

Deeply troubled and conflicted about how to respond, Father James tries to go on with his calling through that week.

However, that proves impossible as he is confronted with a troubling variety of spiritual challenges from both his estranged daughter and his own parishioners.

In those dispiriting struggles, Father James' life begins to fall apart as time runs out towards a confrontation that seems to crystallize his values and what he wants his life to be.

This video as a reaction video for the purposes of quotation, criticism, review and parody falls within the criteria set out by that judgement and the mandatory requirements of the EU Copyright Directive For any and all claims of copyright the following evidence will be requested: - Evidence of Copyright or Related Copyright rights - Evidence of breach of copyright exceptions as noted above - Evidence that the video has negatively impacted the market share of the original work and that the copyright holder has lost revenue as a result of the video - Evidence that it was not reasonable or fair to use the amount of the copyright work utilised in the video - Evidence of the video being re-edited to constitute what forms fair use under copyright law Note: All attempts at fraudulent copyright claims such as those made by non-copyright holders, e.g. distributors, will be reported to the police as attempted fraud!
