💬 LESSON DESCRIPTION:
In my last video I talked about a left-hand classical guitar technique that was a game changer for me, and how I learned about it from working on the song Milonga by Jorge Cardozo, which is a classical guitar repertoire piece.
In this video I’m going to take the Milonga guitar chords and analyze their composition and voice leading.
I love analyzing guitar chord theory with any piece of music I play because it helps me understand what the music is actually saying, so I can speak the language of music and express myself with it.
Milonga happens to be a very famous classical guitar piece, and the chord progression is a standard progression that is used in a bunch of other music, so I'll give examples of where it's used as well.
The benefit of analyzing chords is that we might hear something that we think belongs to a certain a genre, but really it uses the same building blocks as many other pieces of music across genres.
