Is AMG’s GLE 53 the Best 7 Seater Daily? Full Review

So now to one of the most popular #MercedesAMG’s on the channel: the new GLE 53 4matic+ with 7 Seat option! We have never reviewed the 7 Seater GLE, its a pretty great option vs the GLB and GLS in MB’s Line up, and offers more room than the X5 equivalent. We also haven’t driven the UK spec version: it’s a car that doesn’t have the “Dynamic Plus Pack” option that Europe does, with upgraded steering wheel, bigger red brakes and other changes. So it will be interesting to see how this stacks up vs the “top” EU version.

The formula is the typical 53 AMG one, with the in-line 6 turbo AMG Engine with Hybrid EQ boost. We have 435BHP 520nm on tap, with a EQ hybrid boost of a further 22BHP and 250nm: allowing for a 0-60 of 5.2 seconds. We also have a fully variable power in the AMG 4matic+ all wheel drive system.

A big bonus with the GLE 53, is how it really looks like a full 63 version, with the ENTIRETY of the car sharing cues with the flagship GLE63S. To see how much they match, I’ll return to Affalterbach to check out the GLE63S as well as hear the #AMG performance exhaust of that car!! The V8 exhaust vs the Inline 6 is a pretty interesting battle!
