IAOMT Opening statement INC5

Anita Tibau delivers a strong opening statement on behalf of the IAOMT at the INC5 meeting in Geneva. The IAOMT calls for the immediate discontinuation of the use of mercury amalgam due to environmental, occupational and health risks, and the fact there are safer, durable and cost effective alternatives available. The IAOMT is committed to helping in this initiative by training dental professionals around the world the protocols on conscientious removal and effective placement of alternatives to mercury amalgam. We also are disseminating the deleterious health impacts of amalgam to other health professionals.
