Cate Blanchett is a "house Ambassador" for LV and has asked LV to create custom looks using fabric left over from previous collections. These sleeves are so ugly. It's going to be a very hard job for me. Cate also spoke at an event in Cannes called Kering Women in Motion. She talked about her recent role as a film producer, and how she and Coco Francini, who is also a partner in productions, decided to enforce diversity quotas for the films that they produce. Or, at least, quotas for who they interview to fill jobs. In "Mrs. Blanchett Francini hired a majority of female crew and directors for "Mrs. They decided that they would only work on projects where there was a requirement to interview women and people of color. Blanchett, Francini and their company are proud of the fact that they run a business that promotes diverse voices and women filmmakers from around the world. Blanchett recalls an era in her career, not too long ago, when she was the only female on set. She hopes to change this with her work as producer. Blanchett: "We both have had experiences when we've walked onto set and done the count and wondered why sometimes you feel a little alienated and annoyed." "I realized that I was the only female in the cast...there were 62 men and, yep. I am the only one." Blanchett said. This ratio is really bad...it is disproportionate. It means that you laugh at the same jokes all the time. "I have a great sense of humor but I'm like, Let's switch it up." [From Variety] Some right-wing websites have tried to make it seem like she is dictating all productions MUST be woke. But... saying you are only required to interview a few people of color and females, that's really bare-bones wakeism. It's hardly even woke? It's not that "let's interview some women of colour for this job", is a guarantee that they will be hired. You're just expanding the pool of people who are interviewed.
