Octopath Traveler 2 (PC) - Part 85: The Treasure of Alpates (Temenos & Throne Crossed Paths Part 2)

With Temenos and Throne's individual stories completed, the second part of their crossed path story is now available. Previously, Throne enlisted Temenos's help to investigate a rumor from her Blacksnake brothers about a treasure known as "Alpates", only to find that Alpates was a person. She may not have been a treasure, but she had a treasure that she gave part of to Throne and Temenos before setting off on her own journey.

Later, on the shores of Conning Creek, Temenos and Throne find that Alpates had been killed. After some investigation, they find a note on Alpates's person talking about a treasure buried in the Cavern of the Moon and Sun.

It's a short dungeon, but it has an interesting gimmick. Switching between day and night will illuminate different parts of the dungeon. At the end, Temenos activates trance mode to investigate another phrase from Alpates's note: "Where the moon meets the sun". Switching between day and night will reveal that one of the five circles on the floor is illuminated by both. There is the treasure: the other half of the cloudy mirror to go with the first half that Alpates gave us at the end of part 1. This item will play a huge part in the final chapter once the rest of the Crossed Paths are finished.
