The 75th Ranger Regiment, also known as Army Rangers, are a United States Army light infantry special operations force directly under United States Army Special Operations Command. The primary mission of the Regiment is to conduct forcible entry operations in hostile or sensitive environments worldwide and its secondary mission is to conduct special operations raids. The Regiment is the U.S. Army's premier light infantry unit, with specialized skills that enable the Regiment to perform a variety of missions including direct action, airfield seizure, special reconnaissance, personnel recovery, clandestine insertion and site exploitation.
