Getting Started with Rx Fire

Getting started with prescribed fire can be a little scary if you haven't done a burn before. In this video, a landowner I consulted with a few years ago to improve his property for hunting, is doing his first burn.
An accidental fire and some PGC fires plus lots of studying and advice gave this landowner the confidence to go ahead with a burn.
Starting small, the plan was to burn an 18 acre area but they decided to make a firebreak and just do an acre to get used to the process.
This fire will reduce the presence of black birch and red maple seedlings, refresh the blueberry, reduce logging slash and help favor oak seedlings.
