This kit is fantastic and this is our first experience with Osmo toys and they are truly great! Really cool and interactive software that guides your little ones through the adventure or task/game at hand.
The materials are all high quality as is the base and mat which should last a long time for both the kids to be able to play until they get pass this stage.
Love the learning/teaching aspect of these and the kids enjoy playing with it. Once you have the app you do not need WiFi so you can take on the go and use it anywhere you can place the mat and base on a stable surface!
I cannot say enough good things about this set but that we will be buying another set and add more of the other activities as they become available individually for purchase!
My son is turning six next week and starting kindergarten this year. Ive been worried all summer about his education since the beginning of Covid. I wanted to find something educational to keep him learning, focused, and engaged.
I set it up for him and he immediately started playing. He loved using the manipulatives and creating shapes on his work mat. He was engaged and loved all the different lessons.
They were so easy and needed minimal adult support (just to set up). The lessons started easy and slowly scaffolded the content. He is already learning so much about numbers, shapes, and letters.
Im so impressed. My parents will be doing distance learning and will use this as part of his instruction. He loves using it so it will be easy to implement.
The dry erase pad in this package is just that, a flimsy pad.
Its not like you can play with the erase pad in your hands or anything, so it shouldnt matter, but I just wanted to mention that because in previous bundles Osmo used to include a high quality dry erase board.
You should also know that any dry erase board will work.
You can buy the biggest board you can find at an office store, and put this Osmo base on it and it will work.As Ive mentioned in my other Osmo reviews, what type of case you have for your iPad will determine how often you play Osmo games.
Some of us have very rugged kid cases for our children that are hard to remove. We have those colorful big rubber rugged cases for our kids and it is a chore to remove, put back, remove, put back.
So I dont think we play Osmo games as much as we should. If you want your children to get the most out of Osmo, you first need to get an easier case for your iPad, so that the case doesnt become a deterrent.
.Lastly, the compatibility should be emphasized... "All iPads except Generation 1, iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch.
The minimum iOS version needed is iOS 9."As for the games itself, they are top notch, and there are plenty of YT videos to learn more about them. 5 stars!
Osmo is worth the investment into your child’s education. It’s a great way to get your kids some fun hands on play education. I can go on and on about how great this is for children of all ages!!
Love Osmo because I can have my daughter be entertained so I can work. I love that I don’t have to feel guilty about her being on her iPad and that it’s educational.
