Why is the West 'Supporting' COVID-19 Vaccination in Africa?

Africa’s ‘largest-ever immunization drive is well underway with COVID-19 vaccines being administered in almost all African countries’ according to WHO.
Looking at the statistics of confirmed COVID-19 cases (as of 31 May 2023) does Africa really need vaccinations especially from countries that had the most confirmed cases?
Shouldn’t we be borrowing from Africa’s best practices to learn how the continent managed to keep their COVID-19 fatalities so low?
Also, these same countries wouldn’t share their vaccines with Africa during the height of the pandemic. These led to massive shortages of vaccines in Africa.
It is hard to believe that the United States government is supporting Angola have ‘accelerated widespread equitable access to ‘safe and effective’ COVID-19 Vaccinations.
How about the U.S vaccinating the hundreds of thousands of immigrants crossing their borders?
After all, many of the immigrants could use the very many different vaccines that are being pushed on to Africans.
Germany decided to ‘support’ the Union of Comoros with vaccination.
There were only 160 deaths (Jan 2020-31May2023) and 9109 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Comoros according to the WHO.
Fortunately with such few COVID-19 deaths, why did Germany feel compelled to support the vaccination of this healthy African nation?
After all, Africa had the least number of COVID-19 deaths and the least amount of vaccinated population.
Shouldn’t we borrow from Africa’s successful practices?
Africans are resilient people. We survived the pandemic and we certainly do not need unwanted COVID-19 vaccines now!
