THEY GOT THEIR MIRACLE ON THE WAY

Of all the old testament quotations, the one that sticks in my mind is their statement about Abraham that "he went out, not knowing." I remember that because my father quoted that often as we headed to another revival meeting.
I picked up my lifestyle from my father's mentoring. If we had one meeting promised on the East Coast or the Northwest, we would take off, not knowing where the next meeting was coming from. As a single man and a married couple, we followed that pattern for the first ten years of our marriage.
A particular quality of sensitivity develops when you know you're not listening to God; you don't eat the following week. People we met in the churches we went to may never have happened if we had stayed at home and planned everything out to the last detail before we left.
The Scriptures are filled with men and women who received their miracles while they were on the way. The children of Israel left Egypt, not knowing the details of their journey. The untold number of people that Jesus ministered to where the scripture makes the statement, "and as they went their way they were healed."
The blind man, the man with a crippled hand, and the phenomena of Peter walking on water all had to do with the action of going somewhere by faith.
"And as they went their way, they were healed."
Think about it, next time; God gives you a challenge to act on something unknown or beyond your comfort zone. If you take just one step toward it, the second step will be much easier, and before you know it, the doors will open, and the glory of God will give you the courage to go on.
