I was concerned that this helmet might be too small. My head measures 23 inches and the description says it will fit up to 24. As it turns out, I actually had to tighten the adjustment wheel just a bit to get a snug fit.
I like the style, I like the fit, and the light is an added bonus. I have two other helmets, but this is now the one I wear the most often (on my daily commute to work.)
Updated Review: I returned the first helmet and re-ordered a new one. This new helmet is perfect and everything works. Thank you Retrospec & Amazon. I will post another update on the 3 month performance from today.
Stay tuned. Previous review: Pros: 1. Very light weight. 2. Covers your entire head and is comfortable. Cons: 1. LED Light does not work - As you can see from the video, the light doesn’t work.
The instructions asks you to remove the plastic strip to allow battery contact, I did that, still the light did not work.
LED Light cover very difficult to remove - I did not have a screwdriver so I used a normal key to open the cover just to check if there is anything I could do internally but the cover itself was so tightly attached that I did not want to risk breaking the cover.
You may surely want to remove the light cover to replace the battery sometime in future but it is very difficult to remove the cover and high chances are you will break the light cover.
3. Poor surface material quality - Also, as you can see from the third photo, I gently used the key to remove the cover and it created very visible scratches instantly which shows poor surface material quality.
Can’t recommend this helmet enough. I took a nasty fall off an electric scooter while wearing this and hit my head, but luckily with this on I didn’t suffer any head injury. Not much else you can ask for in a helmet! Highly recommend
Yep I met the asphalt yesterday going 15mph. My head hit last. That helmet made a world of difference in a split second.
I have a big head and a lot of hair and this just barely fits at its loosest setting. With that said, it adjusts where it needs to and the light is visible when it needs to be.
Nothing was loose or questionable so Id buy it again. I just dont plan on testing how much impact it can handle when being worn.
It don’t look dorky love the feel and it’s durable
The visual design of the helmet looks good. But it is definitely made for a max size of a medium sized head at best. I consider my head size a medium (though some would say a "big head"!
lol), but I still had to trim off both sides of the side paddings and set the strap at its max length to get the helmet to fit.
I wanted a West helmet, it's what I wore when renting ebikes so I knew how comfortable it was. I couldn't pull the trigger on the $60 price tag though. So I got this one for half that price and I'm just as happy.
I really like the feel of this helmet. Its a matte black, its comfortable, and the straps are relatively easy to adjust. My only qualm: when the battery dies on the light, I have no idea how its going to get replaced.
We could not get the switch plate off, and Im worried itll break. So theres that.
I have a 62cm head. This helmet fits perfectly.
