When John Glenn got the opportunity to join the crew of the Mercury Seven, he might have gotten a little too excited. When he saw glistening lights all around his space shuttle he thought it was an extraterrestrial encounter and his crew was just as baffled.

They would later discover that what they were seeing was frozen bodily fluids released through the vent of their space shuttle and glistening in direct sunlight.
