The Promise!

In my thumbnail photograph today, I have a picture of a field and a rainbow. I believe it’s something that many of us have seen and often remark about when we see a rainbow. It’s often quite refreshing when we have a storm in the summer weather, it cools the air and then we see the rainbow which is God’s promise to never flood the earth again.

We are also seeing a lot about LGBTQ month at the moment, known as pride month! I noticed that at Waitrose, Tesco's, and Sainsbury's many people are using the so-called pride flag!

In Genesis 9:12 – 16 it reads in the Message Bible.

“12-16 God continued, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth. From now on, when I form a cloud over the Earth and the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll remember my covenant between me and you and everything living, that never again will floodwaters destroy all life. When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth.”

They really are wonderful words that God has promised never to flood the world again. It’s important that people know the truth about what’s going to happen in the world. In one Corinthians 6:9 – 11 we read the following.

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [b]homosexuals, nor [c]sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were [d]sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
