New US Base In Syria?

There are new reports that indicate the US is planning to build a new base in Syria.

This is while the US is illegally there in the first place and without the consent of the Syrian govt.

If true, this comes at a time when there are geopolitical shifts in the region, where countries are reconciling and aligning themselves with each other, such as Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, Syria is back in the fold with its membership reinstated in the Arab League.
