New Thyssenkrupp Modded 1985 Dover Hydraulic Elevator at Sedgefield North (N Myrtle Beach, SC)

This elevator was in the process of a mod last May by TKE and was put into service on June 1st. This was originally a Dover Traditional and was the only original Dover left in the entire Cherry Grove Area. Now it's gone. Not saying I will miss it because it was a piece of shit. Between being ranked as a dishonorable mention in my Top 5 Worst Elevators of 2022 and the moment I got briefly stuck on it during a livestream, as well as it slowly deteriorating in ride quality, I knew a mod was bound to happen.

This mod isn't very good to the surprise of no one. It still has running problems like the Dover, but it does seem the door operator was likely replaced as it doesn't seem to be having any issues (for now). The button choice unsurprisingly sucks and I'm bound to see button replacements not before too long given this is the Myrtle Area and seeing MAD BS Classic replaced is a very common occurrence. Interestingly, they left the original Dover Lantern behind, but it still doesn't do anything. Let's hope this mod ages better than how it currently is in it's first week of service.
