ACADEMIC vs ARTIST vs PROFESSIONAL Artist's Loft Paint for Acrylic Pour

In this experiment we compare using the three different levels of Artist's Loft Paint for an acrylic paint pour; Artist's Loft Level 1 Academic paint, Artist's Loft Level 2 Artist Paint, and Artist's Loft Level 3 Professional Paint.

As a new artist I frequently only used craft paints. Once I got the hang of fluid acrylic pouring I graduated to more mainstream paints like the Artist's Loft, Liquitex, and Arteza paints. I didn't really understand the difference between the three levels of paint quality and I wanted to figure out which one I should be using for my pour painting.

In this experiment we took the Academic level with a medium to paint ration of 2:1 as our "control". This is the way I mix my paints the majority of the time for my normal pours.

Then we compared how much paint it took of the Artist (2) and Professional (3) level paints to get a color comparable to the Academic (1) mixture mentioned above.

Ultimately we found that we needed to use the following amounts:

Pouring Medium - 75% Elmer's Glue-All and 25% Water

I used the exact same white paint mixture in all 6 of my paintings.
White Paint - 66% medium and then half and half Artist't Loft Titanium White and Artist's Loft White Flow Acrylic

Professional (3) - 12g

Each paint costs about twice as much as the level below it withe professional being even a little more expensive.

Profressional ~ $4.5 to $6 per ounce
